Our K–6 Counseling Team, which includes the School Counselor, School Social Worker and School Psychologist, plays an important role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development to help them succeed in the school environment.
Counseling services are provided when students experience challenges that may impact their learning, relationships, or overall well-being during the school day. These services are responsive, flexible, and based on individual student needs.
Counseling support may include:
- Classroom Lessons: Our team may visit classrooms to teach all students important skills such as emotion regulation, problem-solving, friendship-building, and responsible decision-making.
- Targeted In-Class Support: When needed, the counselor or psychologist may join a class to offer additional support to specific students as part of their daily routine.
- Small Group Counseling: Students may participate in small counseling groups focused on topics such as social skills, self-esteem, coping with anxiety, or managing emotions. Groups vary in length and frequency depending on the needs of the students.
- Individual Counseling: One-on-one support is available for students experiencing specific challenges that are affecting them at school.
Referrals to these services can come from teachers, school staff, or parents/guardians. Our goal is to create a caring, supportive school environment where every child feels safe, connected, and ready to learn.
